Terms of Participation
Ordering:
We will be ordering weekly. There is no minimum purchase. You can order every week or as you need.
Orders must be in on Friday, by 9 Pm
We will email you a list of items that will be ordered that week with an idea of prices. You let us know via email or phone (if needed) how much of those items you’ll be purchasing. The amount we order will depend on how much everyone wants so please commit to taking your order.
Also, please keep in mind, there may still be extra amounts of a particular item. All extra items will be set aside and are available for purchase by friends and walk-ups. We have not built a large waste factor into the price, so in order to keep the prices down and the selection good, we need you to consider purchasing these extra items. We really appreciate the ‘community’ mindset enabling this to work for all of us.
As we grow, more choices will be available. If you have a request for something unusual you can always get it if you are willing to take a full case of it. We are also willing to put it out to the group to see if there is enough interest in it. (This may take a week or so.) Keep in mind, if you give a recipe more folks will be willing to try it. Let’s help each other expand our food horizons.
Pick up:
Pickup is Mondays from 12:00 pm until 6:00pm, at Firstfruits Farm in
A service to pack your order will be provided if wanted. This will be done for a small fee a $2 if your order is below $30 and $3 if your order is above $30. If for some reason you cannot be there till after 3pm, then we will have to pull your order with the applied fee. We’re doing this afternoon packing so we can release any of the final extras early enough to sell them.
The ‘final extras’ would include mostly the weighable items. We have to estimate the weight of these items and we try to ensure that the items are available for the people that pre-ordered them. We sometimes have to err on the side of caution, so for example, we may hold back all of the red peppers and only once all the orders are filled, it becomes clear if there are any peppers actually available for the extra table. Keep in mind that the more extras we sell the better for everybody. The extra table will be available for the later shoppers until 5:30. Pick-up will continue to be till 6pm with later pick-up available if needed.
You may bring bags for loading and carrying your food or take a box. We encourage you to take a box to help remove the boxes.
Children:
If you are bringing children, please keep your eye on them and keep them out of the house. Though they may play, please keep in mind that this is not a playgroup and we are busy. Be aware that there is a deep pond here at Firstfruits Farm. Also, we have a lot of fruit trees of all different sizes and we want to keep them from damage. Please don’t allow your children to pick any fruit without asking the owners.
Payment:
Payment for produce is due at pickup. We will take cash or check. Please make sure there are funds in your account if you write a check as we will be making a bank deposit immediately. You will be responsible for any fees incurred for insufficient funds.
Quarterly fees can be paid at the first pickup of the quarter.
Returns:
We take care to inspect the produce before we accept it, but sometimes we just can’t tell if something is going to be bad until we actually try to eat it. If we hear across the group that something wasn’t good, we can get credit from our suppliers. We will try to be as fair as possible and we trust that you will be too.
